Family Winemakers of California Show Recap

We just completed a whirlwind three-day tour in SoCal to introduce our winery as new members of Family Winemakers of California.  First stop was San Diego at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.  And at breakfast we met up with an Oregon winery owner who happened to be at the Fairgrounds attending a dressage show – wine and horses are both wicked habits – so we dragged him over to taste the wines!

LangeTwins Ambassador and good friend John Fitzgerald introduced us to the Jonathan Club’s “Cigar Club” and Randy poured everything from the Sauvignon Blanc straight through to the Petit Verdot at the Dal Rae Restaurant to 35 very enthusiastic and supportive wine aficionados.

The next morning’s breakfast the guys shared stories about the Cigar event – and “Wolfie’s” name came up – and sure as can be – Wolfgang Kupka made it to the Pasadena show with Chris Branch of KC Branch.

Great group!

It was good to learn that Wolfgang is actually the Commodore of the Jonathan’s Yacht Club.  We’re trying to figure out a way to bring their boats north and dock at the Clarksburg vineyard for a sunset dinner – where there’s a will, there’s a way.
