Cyclocross Bike Race at LangeTwins December 20th
We’ve teamed up with Rich Maile and the folks of Sacramento Cyclocross to host our first cycling race here at the winery on Sunday, December 20th.
What’s Cyclocross? It’s sort of a blend of mountain biking and road cycling, bringing in different terrain and even obstacles that require racers to dismount their bike to clear. That explanation probably butchered the sport (sorry Rich!) – here are some photos courtesy of Jeff Namba to give you a better idea:

Our winery definitely provides some unique terrain possibilities – concrete, gravel, dirt, grass, as well as the steep climb up our bridge that the racers will have to conquer! Since most of their races are usually held in public parks, racing at our winery switches things up on the cyclists.
We’ll have the corks pulled on some of our wines, as well as other goodies for the spectators.
Stay tuned for more info coming soon!
Here’s a video of SacramentoCX’s race in October. Very cool course…jealous!
