Bottling our 2006 Vintage

Bottling is always an exciting and stressful event.  It is the last step in the vine-wine process and everything has to go perfectly.  We have some great partners in making this process work, which makes life much easier!

This week we bottled our 2006 LangeTwins Merlot and our 2006 LangeTwins Cabernet Sauvignon.  We’ve been tasting them as the winemaking team crafted their final blends, and they are impressive.

The Merlot has a very aromatic ripe blackberry nose that I can still almost smell since we last tasted it with our winemakers, David and Karen.  It is a rich Merlot, with soft tannins and a lingering finish.

The Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a dark plum fruit nose which carries through on the palate.  It spent 15 months in French Oak barrels which added another layer of flavor and a soft tannin finish.

Both are fantastic evolutions of our 2005 vintage and we can’t wait for everyone to try them.  Wine Club members will get the first taste in their next shipment – if you aren’t a member yet, join online!
