Only 200 cases were made of our 2007 Pinot Grigio and it’s not a renewable resource – meaning, there won’t be a 2008 vintage! As Kendra pointed out in one of her last posts, the Pinot Grigio is part of our Family Exclusive tier of wines. This tier will feature limited-production wines that are only available from our winery and online.
We have had lots of loyal followers of this exclusive, small-production wine. It was first released to Wine Club members (as they always get the first taste!) and we had a great response. Much like our Chardonnay, many people have commented that even though they don’t typically like Pinot Grigio, they really enjoyed ours. That’s an awesome compliment!
Our winemakers take on this small-lot Pinot Grigio:
Bright yellow in color, this wine has soft acidity and citrus zest folded in with breadcrust undertones from sur lie aging to create a long, lingering finish. Perfect as a quaffing wine.
What’s my take? Even though I am no winemaker, my wife Amanda and I sure enjoy this wine often at home before starting dinner. For us, it’s a ‘kick your shoes off and unwind’ kind of wine – lots of times paired with one of our favorite apps, roasted garlic crostini. Add some goat or brie cheese to the mix and you have yourself an awesome party appetizer to pair with our Pinot Grigio!
